Last night we stayed in a small Hostel called Beaches which was essentially a beach house full of bunk-beds, in the small resort town of Courtown.
The beach was a 2 min walk away and was breathtaking. We expected something similar to the Oregon coast, but where pleasantly surprised by the beautiful flat turquoise sea. We spent an hour skipping rocks when the weather quickly turned from sunshine to terenchial downpour. We squatted under some nearby bushes until it eased up, then ran back to our hostel.
After a few hours the sun was out again, so we decided to head toward a soccer golf coarse we had seen on our way in. After walking about a mile in the sun, another terenchial downpour began. We were not dressed for the weather and quickly found a tree to stand under. Again, we let it ease up, and ran back to our hostel, abandoning our hopes of soccer golf.
When I was reading through some guidebooks for the town, they described the weather as "freakish."
